Soft Skills Trainer

I was fortunate enough to get an opportunity to work as a soft skills trainer. Soft skills training is an amazing field. As a trainer, you learn many things while imparting knowledge to the trainees. I  worked with a management institute as a soft skills trainer. I had to handle young and  enthusiastic graduates, who were eager to enter the corporate world with the needed skills and domain knowledge. To begin, it was difficult as I had to understand and then learn the intricacies of soft skills training. After a period of six months, I got adjusted to this area and started to enjoy my work. Dealing with students was a fabulous learning experience as I got to understand new concepts.

Through various activities and games, I taught communication, team building, interpersonal skills and so on to my students. My sessions would be full of group activities and team work. Many real life situations were enacted in the classrooms. Many mock personal interviews and group discussion sessions were organized so that the students get a feel of the situations. Students and I  relaxed and enjoyed the sessions. I made students to come out in open and speak freely in English about their dreams, goals and motives of their life. This helped them in public speaking, improving spoken English and building confidence.

For me, this position of Soft Skills Trainer gave a lot of confidence, skills and an opportunity to interact with lot of people from various fields like manufacturing, automobiles, academics, etc. This helped in development of my perspectives towards personal and professional life. Those two and half years are quite important part of my career and it was definitely an interesting phase in my life as it gave me a vision to look at my professional life.
