Being a mother

When I got to know that I'm pregnant, I was overwhelmed with emotions. I was overjoyed, scared, confused, and so on. I was happy that I was going to be creator of a new life, scared because initially during first trimester I had some medical problems and confused whether I will be able to manage the new born and my life. Slowly and steadily through the nine months, I saw a lot of ups and downs. I learned many lessons and understood many things during that phase of my life. I had terrible mood swings during those nine months and my dear husband had to handle me and my moods. He managed the situation and showed his love and care for me. He was always  at the receiving end.

Finally when  the big day arrived, I was eager to find out whether it is a boy or girl, whether s/he looks like me or my husband, s/he has hair and so on. I had a planned C- Section in the month of April. It was one of the best mornings of my life as I was in the OT lying with a lot of expectations. I delivered a baby boy. I had intense pain but I had my bundle of joy with me. When I held him in my arms for the first time, I could not believe that I had actually nurtured him for nine months and now, he is in front of my eyes.

I went through a  lot of physical and emotional changes during that phase. After my son's birth,  it was learning time as I had to understand how to hold, feed and change nappies. It was a time when I felt I was terribly depressed at times as I felt I'm not able to take right care of the new born. during that time, my hubby and parents supported me a lot. I and my husband named our boy "Shreesh". We both liked the name and chose it immediately.

Today, my son is growing and everyday  I see and record his development. The day he made the first sound, he rolled over, he sat, crawled, his first teeth and so on. These milestones in his development are fun to watch and I'm thoroughly enjoying this fabulous phase of life. I too am growing as a mother after the initial hiccups. I know it is not a smooth ride but I'm ready for it. Shreesh is the prized possession of my life, he has brought me and my husband closer and made our relationship stronger.

Woman as a friend

Every woman plays various roles like daughter, sister, wife, daughter-in-law, mother and so on. But, the best role that she plays is of a friend as she is not expected to behave in a certain manner that she need to do in other roles. She is free and independent so she is at her best as a friend. She can be there for her friend in all the circumstances.
When I make  statements of this sort, many people may agree or disagree, I have made this statement from my own experiences. When I'm with my friends; I'm at my best. I share a good relation with all my friends right from my school and college days, These days, I do not communicate with them a lot as everyone is busy in our own world.  If I decide to be someone' s friend I make sure that I'm there for that person through his or her good as well as bad times.
As a women, I have patience, stamina, caring attitude, understanding and so on, which are important in all sorts of relationship. This helps me to deal with people of all sorts and various situations. Woman has an innate capability of adjusting well to various circumstances and coming out as a winner. I am happy that having a lot of friends has helped me to grow as a human being as I learn various things from different people.

Started blogging

Hi Everyone! I always wanted to start my blog. It was on priority list for quiet some time now. But somehow, I did not get the right time to begin. It may be due to my laid back attitude. To start my blog was one of the new year resolution that I had made. I did not start in the month of  January but I could begin in the month of February. It is better late than never is the only thing that I can say right now.

Writing is something that I have always liked. In school, I would love to write essays and found that I always loved to describe an event, person and so on. This love for writing took me to reading and later to complete my post graduation in English literature. Even now, I work in the field of writing, which satisfies me.

I will express my thoughts, views and perspectives about various things on this blog. This is a personal space, which will help me to evolve as a better human being in the course of time.  I will try to add new posts as and when I get time from my routine tasks.
